ST. JOSEPH, Mich. (WSBT) — The Berrien County Democratic Party hosted a Black History Celebration on Sunday honoring the history, culture, and contributions of Black Americans and their impact on the area.
The celebration featured a justice and democracy button bar, a community photo spot and a “I Have a Dream” wall where people could share reflections and hopes for the future.

“There's so many things that people are not understanding about our African-American communities, and the great things that happen there, and we need to make sure that we get the word out and partner better and be advocates for those that have been disenfranchised in the past,” said Communications Chair for the Berrien County Democratic Party Angela Bell.
Attendees were encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation for the local food pantry.
