As the city marks Juneteenth, a new book is shining a light on the public tributes to Black Americans across the five boroughs.
While there are more than a thousand monuments across the five boroughs, only a small portion of them honor Black Americans.
“New York City Monuments of Black Americans” highlights 30 of those monuments and memorials, digging into the lives and legacies behind them.
Author David Felsen, a Brooklyn-based historian and former documentary producer, joined “Mornings On 1” Friday to further discuss.
