Heart & Soul Music Festival Announces 50/50 Raffle Benefitting United Foundation of Central Florida, Inc. for Community Empowerment
ORLANDO, FL – August 20, 2021 – Heart & Soul Music Festival is proud to announce a 50/50 Raffle benefiting The United Foundation of Central Florida, Inc. (UFCFL) for community empowerment and youth leadership. All funds raised support UFCF’s work to provide resources to the underserved, mental health counseling, bridging the educational gap, and maintaining the program. The 50/50 raffle is a fundraising effort that aligns with both organization’s goals to inspire a healthier, more educated, and united community.
United Foundation of Central Florida, Inc., (UFCF) is a 501(c)(3) public foundation formed in 2014. Their mission is to bridge the gap in the community using a holistic approach by addressing after-school needs, increasing graduation rate, food insecurities, lack of affordable housing, job skill sets, and reducing crime. Located in Orange County, Florida in the heart of the Pine Hills community, the organization has three main focus areas including mentorship, scholarships, and food insecurities.
The Future Leaders United After-School Enrichment and Mentoring Program (FLU) was established in 2015. The program is committed to developing future leaders through mentorships, leadership development, college preparation, career readiness, and other service-learning projects. FLU has mentored over 500 students. Not only are they responsible for bridging the gaps in both the educational and mentoring needs, but also increasing the graduation rate. This is one of the many ways the program has impacted the central Florida communities. Students who are part of the mentorship program have the opportunity to receive a scholarship through the FLU Educational Scholarship Program. The mission is to assist in enhancing higher education, vocational, technical school, and other educational needs and opportunities. UFCF hopes to award $50K in scholarships within the next year.
Lastly, the United Foundation of Central Florida Food Distribution has been essential to the community. “There has been an increase in food insecurities due to the pandemic. It was imperative that this need was met to curve the impact COVID-19 had on our families. Thanks to the support of partnerships, local organizations, and individuals, we have distributed over 1,030,000 meals to the community in the last 13 months. We are extremely proud crime rate has gone down in the community due to provided resources and needs being met,” said Sandra Fatmi-Hall, Executive Director & Founder at United Foundation of Central Florida, Inc. “With in-person events limited due to the pandemic, the 50/50 Raffle is one way we can raise funds to continue our efforts. We have a responsibility as citizens to leave this world better than we saw it by encouraging unity, growth and investing in programs that empower.” To learn more about the United Foundation of Central Florida, support their initiatives, or make a contribution visit https://www.unitedfoundationcf.org.
