ORLANDO FL, 9/17/19 — Last month, Orlando Magazine named The Wire 98.5 FM in the ‘Music Radio Station’ category of their ‘Best of Orlando 2019’ Issue.
According to their website, Orlando Magazine was founded in 1946, to reflect the lifestyle and interests of an upscale, educated readership. 98.5 Co-founder and General Manager Paul ‘P.A.’ Billings largely credits the station’s community partnerships, supporters and the listeners for the remarkable success which the low-power FM station has enjoyed over the last year. Launched in October 2016, WHPB 98.5FM is one of only 2000 active LP-FM stations, and has regularly outperformed expectations for listenship in the highly competitive Metro-Orlando market. This week, 98.5 FM received a plaque commemorating the distinction, to be displayed within the station offices at WHPB Studios.
WHPB-FM 98.5 THE WIRE is owned and operated by WHPB Inc., a Florida 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
